Whether as a result of good business practice or external regulation, alarm companies will usually issue a ‘specification’ to customers as part of a quotation for new Intrusion & Hold up Alarm Systems (I&HAS). This specification is more formally known, under relevant British Standards rules, by one of two names – depending on the status of the system at the time of the document’s preparation.
RISCAuthority has prepared an updated ‘model’ specification summary sheet available to all specifiers and system providers to use as a best practice method of bringing consistency and clarity to the process. It is offered freely for adoption by alarm companies, but may also prove useful for customers and third parties, e.g. insurers, wishing to seek key system information in a standardised format.
